I’d
been plotting to get revenge on traffic wardens for months and even
considered launching a summer water pistol campaign called ‘squirt
a squirt’. A water attack against these most despised individuals
is no longer necessary as some now have a greater fear .
It may be wrong to laugh at the
misfortune of others, but there are exceptions to be had where
traffic wardens are concerned, and the recent snatch-deportation of
10 on-the-job wardens is worthy of a chuckle in books.
 ‘Don’t
worry bruv, you’re fine,’ one of them said to me wearing the
smirk of a man assured of a hefty Christmas bonus, I shouldn’t
have taken him at face value either as I received a fine in the post
later.
Black people get enough bad press as it is without traffic wardens
upsetting a very badly stacked applecart.
I guess someone at the Home Office must have found themselves on the
receiving end of one irregular parking ticket too many to get the
immigration bloodhounds out - and not a moment too soon.
Everybody except me appears oblivious to the perils of giving our
brothers and sisters in badly fitting uniform the power to pour
buckets of shit on your day. They prowl the streets looking for you,
eager to steal the sunshine from an otherwise perfect day, and I
feel it’s just because they can.
And if you’ve ever attempted a conversation with one of them
you’d understand.
Could years of emasculating Black people have led to this horrendous
evolutionary state? If so, why do Black wardens show no leniency to
their own? Although anyone with those naff Jamaica boxing gloves
hanging from the rear-view mirror deserves a fine. Black-on-Black
ticketing must be considered a crime and must therefore be stopped.
Consider all the crap jobs we've had to endure in years past and
maybe you might think it’s divine justice that Black people can
finally strike back, but they've got be reasonable, just and show
just a bit more consideration for their own.
I don’t appreciate the idea of getting done for some vague traffic
violation by some grinning night-school lawyer in waiting, or a
dreadlocked Bob Marley wannabe. And you might argue that we as
people should take the power and respect where we get it, but I say
NO, traffic wardens are evil, and even when they’re kind they’re
given the push.
Black or NOT, I don’t like them, I don’t trust them and if
coffins had wheels they’d ticket graveyards. Deporting the dodgy
ones is great idea but I'm convinced they're loads more out there.
They deserve to be sent somewhere worse, or even put in stocks and
have rotten fruit pelted at them for every wrong ticket doled out.
But it could be worse. I almost prefer the days when the only jobs
we could get were flipping burgers at McDonalds. This lot add insult
to service with a smile and were probably grinning all the way back
home, deportation orders in hand, confident in the knowledge that
they’d be back with a vengeance.
Ouch – drivers beware.
