MIGRANTS COUNCIL TAX HIKE
Council tax will have to soar to pay for the huge rise in immigrants, it was claimed yesterday. One council said its tax would have to rise by six per cent to cope with the influx of people. The Local Government Association said ministers had badly underestimated the number of people coming into Britain.

TOP COP'S MUSLIM WARNING
Britain's top Asian cop yesterday called for an independent judicial review into the radicalisation of young Muslims. Met Police assistant commissioner Tarique Ghaffur said the action was needed in the wake of the 7/7 bombings. He said Islamophobia in Western society had created a “generation of angry young people” vulnerable to extremism.

COE: BAN ATHLETES FOR LIFE
Sebastian Coe will press for a lifetime ban from major championships for any athlete found guilty of a drugs offence. The move by the Olympic legend and chairman of London 2012 follows a string of drugs scandals in the sport. And it comes with Britain’s 400m star Christine Ohuruogu fearing a lifetime Olympic ban for missing three dope tests.

OPINION: THE MIGRANTS SAILING IN ON RIVERS OF BLOOD

THE EXPRESS has been leading the anti-immigration charge, with angry headlines and fear-mongering. They're devoting more column inches to it than you can shake a stick at, or a Pole even. Now everyone's jumped on the bandwagon with headlines implying that you could paying more council taxes as a result of this great Eastern European crossing-over. Although Government have no idea as to how many are here, headline writers have been playing with estimates of 500,000 upwards. But what has that got to do with Black people? Well about 50 years ago, they were spouting the same nonsense about our Windrush Generation forebears. Yes really. Now, I'm as concerned as the next guy about where my next media gig is going to come from, even though I'm pretty used to losing-out in the freelance stakes to white South African, Australians, Kiwis and just about every white person possible, but so what? That Black people, educated or not, with English will get shunted even further down the employment pecking order by white Eastern Europeans is nobody's business except our own - it just means as usual we have to try that much harder. Anyway, there's more than enough shit jobs to go round - even in the media BH
