CLEARED ON SHOOTING AS VICTIM IS HELD OVER CHILD PORN
A man who was shot during a botched anti-terrorist raid in Forest Gate, east London, was arrested yesterday on suspicion of child pornography offences.
The arrest came on the same day that an independent inquiry cleared a Metropolitan Police fire-arms officer of deliberately shooting the man in the shoulder. Investigators found evidence that Mohammed Abdul Kahar, 23, was accidentally shot by an officer holding a gun about two inches from his body during a scuffle in the dark. |

ART OF BEING GUILTY UNTIL
PROVEN GUILTY |

I GROW UP I want to be a spin doctor. I guess it's like
witch doctoring, but pays better. IF
like me you remember the Stockwell Tube anti-terror shooting
of Jean Charles de Menezes unfolding, you'll have heard
eye-witness reports of a 'puffer jacket' wearing running-man and who
looked suspicious.
de Menezes
was also alleged to have been involved
in a 'rape' incident, exiting a known drug-dealer's flat and other
BAD things like overstaying his visa. So despite being an innocent -
he had the hidden makings of a very bad man. Well of course he
didn't, but somebody somewhere thought it a bit of 'spin' wouldn't
be a bad idea here, and that one way or another
de Menezes was
guilty of something other than being a victim of circumstance. NOW
apart from £38,000 in cash, the kiddie porn and
staying in £250-a-night hotels at tax-payers expense, the Forest
Gate anti-terror shooting brother seems - and please note, I say
seems - to be getting the
de Menezes treatment. He could be as
guilty as sin for all I know, but it would be better if we could be sure
that the authorities were playing the whole investigation straight. OF
COURSE I want maximum protection from our police and security
services from misguided would-be martyrs, terrorists and potential
kiddie-fiddlers, but please let's restrict the PR-fluffers to politics and
get our cops investigating stuff
properly like they used to without the spin. BH |
