Dunn:Teenage supermodel

I'm really ambitious. Naomi's idea is good - I'd do an agency for Black girls because there aren't enough of them on the runway

 JOURDAN DUNN  teenage super model
Jourdan Dunn reportedly doesn't appreciate being described as the supermodel discovered shopping in Primark. "I was mucking about with sunglasses - my friend was shopping," she insists
She was 17 at the time and in and among the 'no-name' labels of the high street clothing store, now, two years later she's seems equally comfortable with brands such as Louis Vuitton, Valentino and Prada. In fact she recently became the first Black model on Prada's catwalk in Milan since Naomi Campbell (1997), which isn't bad for the teenager from Greenford in West London.
Her discovery, not that she was ever lost, is similar to that of the fiery Naomi Campbell who was spotted as a teenager shopping for trinkets in London's Covent Garden. It's not the only thing she shares with the veteran catwalk queen. She commented in The Observer magazine recently that she'd like to go into business and set up an agency for Black models as suggested by Campbell. Apparently a remark she'd made during London Fashion Week in February 2008 about catwalks being very 'white' caused a stir as it would.
Non-industry watchers would be hard pressed to conjure up Black British names other than Campbell earning top-dollar on the catwalk. Tyra Banks is 80s/90s and American, Iman pre-dates her and Noemie Lenoir the face on M&S billboards is French.
Despite the shortage Dunn, who is signed to the Storm modelling agency, will continue to provide inspiration for years to come.
In-between shoots abd jetting half-way across the world, the 19-year-old lives with her mother and two younger brothers in west London.
