Jazzie B

Jazzie B - musical superstar. He of the Funki-Dred fame of the late 80s, is without doubt one of Black Britain's best known music producers, if not, the best Black music producer of modern times - dare we suggest all time.
Most of his work these days will be found in the track credits of work fronted by others, but the Soul II Soul empire which began as a sound [system] before branching out, is thought to have made him a millionaire in addition to bringing him fame, fortune and multiply awards including Grammy's.
"We started out play at parties and ended up playing to over 30,000 people in stadiums in America…and I was just some guy from Finsbury Park!"
The Soul II Soul collective produced and sold albums into the millions, produced number ones and a series of top ten hits - worldwide.
Born in north London of West Indian parentage, Jazzie B at 40 is the youngest of 10 children - he has four sisters and five brothers.
He has homes in both his native north London and reportedly on the Eastern Caribbean Island of Antigua. Those who know him, say he's down-to-earth and is a very likeable character. He's married to wife Efua and has two children.
