Born on Grenada, in the Eastern Caribbean, Alex Pascal MBE is perhaps best known for being one of the founding fathers of the Notting Hill Carnival (Europe's largest street festival). He is also a political activist/campaigner, an accomplished writer and musician. He was also part of the team behind the birth of Britain's most popular black newspapers The Voice.
In 1974 Pascal was amongst one of the first regular Black radio voices, presenting Black Londoners on BBC Radio London.He currently lives in London and is the chairman of the Black Members group of the National Union of Journalist (NUJ).
